THIS AINT IT

What are the chances, that by Christmas, a DVD, Michael Jackson, THIS IS IT, will be in stores, on sale, everywhere? I’ve wondered if maybe I’m on the wrong side of this, then I realize, it all just stinks. To be clear, it is the circumstantial flow of events, still unfolding, that I have trouble with, not Michael Jackson, and the story that should be told. Ken Ortega, come on, anyone think about Ken Burns, let’s face it, this was a very complicated man, a very complicated life story, like I said before, a story of ones lifetime, that should be told. I’ve been a bit confused, concerning AIG, AEG, over who was involved, in what way, with Michael Jackson. Regardless of all that, what fascinates me, is the perfect storm so to speak. First off, without listing all points of interest, if you think for a moment, you’ll see it has everything, necessary to compel the interest of the masses. The buzz is beginning to build again, the District Attorney, wants six million, from the promoters of Michaels Funeral, covering cost, caused by the security needs. THIS IS IT, promoted by the same camp, netted 60 million dollars from Sony. So what is unreasonable about the District Attorneys demand, these promoters surely would admit, they were well served, marketing their widget, benefiting by world coverage, of unfolding events, surrounding Michaels Funeral, not only by saturation of the public, the audience they count on, to fill theaters world wide, but also developing revenue, leasing space to media, throughout the area of LA LIVE. I’m going down the night of the premiere, I spent some time around lunch on tuesday, amazed by the emptiness of the space. I think the bowling alley, at about seven dollars a game, speaks to what we have, going on here. Now this might get a little confusing, first off, let me say, I don’t plan on doing any bowling. I really don’t know where I’m going with this, won’t know till I get there, well here goes, when I was a kid, I think we bowled, fifty cent a game. Rainy day weekends, we were dropped off at the alley, a convent way for parents, to get ramy kids out of their hair. Admittedly, some extra practice shots taken, it was affordable, I think seven bucks a game, is crazy! Thinking about this, causes me, thinking back about prices then, and how they compare, to prices now. Now here is where it gets crazy, air travel, so many fees, all I hear, is how can they continue adding more on, without the traveling public protesting? Dad, always had a pretty good handle on economics, he pointed out to me, when he was around 55-60, to subtract a zero, from the cost of something, what was left, is the cost of that item, when he was a kid. So if it cost 50cent a game, to bowl when I’m a kid, by this formula, today the cost, would be about five dollars, about the cost, at other lanes, around town. On to air travel, the cost for me to fly to Philly today, is about half of what it cost, back in 1968, even after you add all the extra fees. I recall a plane ticket to Hawaii at about $75,in 1968, today I bet you could search out something for around $99. Well the Doctor, is back in the news, this guy, they want to fall on his sword, wonder if there will be some kind of deal worked out here? If nothing else, if he’s ever paid, no one can say, he didn’t earn that money. This guy, back in the news, begins building buzz, bringing back all the mystery, surrounding Michaels death, a week before this widget is unleashed into the world. I listened to La Toya speak, she talks of things I feel, how Michael is more than all of this, that there IS a story to be told. This family has dignity, nothing but love from me to them, what I see, from my seat in the bleachers, they all have been played, like the fiddles in an orchestra. Hearing how such a large portion of proceeds will go to the Michael Jackson Estate, just another small portion of spin, powers that be, have that estate tied up in knots! It was outrageous, how Michaels Mother, was dragged into court, in a time, when the decent thing to do, was to let a mother grieve
