The View From My Section Of The Bleachers
As I see it, we all know how to blow each other up, I’m speaking globally, we collectively take out cites and towns, the countryside and churches, we are able to blow up buildings, and the personal lives of people who inhabit them. Quite frankly, we’ve worked this science of destruction, right into the ground, it bankrupts us as a country, it bankrupts us globally. The money it takes to build these weapons, all the time it takes to assemble, the cost of developing delivery systems, and the training in the “SAFE” use of these weapons, add up to substantial investments. An investment in destruction, what a bunch of nonsense. What about using that time, money, and effort on something that benefits people on our planet. It would be terrible, in the end, all that could be said of us is that we developed the science of destruction, of each other, of all that surrounds us. Someone can sit in a bunker in Nevada, joy stick in hand, and bomb the hell out of people half a world away. This person can pack it in at the end of his day, heading home, back to his family. Its not even personal anymore, it seems almost obscene. Resource depletion, over this century, will be the root cause of our wars, in the end, all of what we fight for will be gone. Like idiots, will governments continue investing in the art of destruction, then In the end, when nothing is left to fight over, turn the corner, will we wait until then to figure out what comes next? The science we need now is a science of creation, figuring out how to create, without leaving piles of rubble behind. Maybe its time to bring magic back, alchemy, to transform something that is common, into something that is special. Do you think it might be time we start looking into ways to fix what we have destroyed, and move on, rather than continuing down this present path? Back in the good old days, things seemed more about making things better, not about making more profits.
