The Train We Need To Build

I know there are things going on in other parts of our country, important things, but this is what is going on here. The Dodgers are now out of the way, if the Yankees can put away the angeles, there will be no distractions from the events approaching, promised to be everything Michael. So let me get this train thing off my chest, so later I can rant about whatever at will. I can’t recall how old I was, but I remember first seeing Walt Disney’s, models of a Utopia. I remember thinking that was so cool, people living adjacent to their work, moved about by thoughtful, mass transportation. I was hanging out at LA Live Tuesday, just checking it out, it came to me, where is the train? I think it would do a lot for business, dumping people out, in the middle of all this. Why is there no train to the Airport, might it make sense, to have a train, moving people from the air port, through the convention center, maybe beyond. Today, the Governor was in town, moving forward plans, for a new football stadium, in the City of Industry. How about terminating. The other end of the tracks around this new stadium. This would be very bold, as a Country, as a City, as a State, we all would need to get back to work. To improve quality of life, we need to get out of our cars, work closer to the places that we live, and begin to build neighborhoods again. There is nothing personal about business, but neighborhoods, are a by-product of personal investment. So what I’m trying to say hear, and I fear I haven’t done such a good job, is all this development, is all about business, possibly its time to set in motion, projects intended to improve quality of life. It would be bold, a train, one end of the line, nearby the newly proposed football stadium, traveling into the San Gabriel valley, among the stops, Santa Anita Race Track, onto the Rose Bowl, then to Dodger Stadium. A stop or two for Echo Park, connecting with the red and purple line in Macarthur park. Continuing on, stopping around 7th and Bixel, then on Figuora between 9th and Olympic, stopping close by the pantry. I’ll just take this a little farther, I know by now, most of you get it, a stop right under the Nokia Plaza, one at the Coliseum, maybe a couple for USC. Terminating at the Airport, many neighborhoods become connected along the way. I’ve talked about this before, corporations, with products that benefit people, the by- product, generation of a fair profit, as opposed to a corporations with their widgets, designed only to fleece the masses. I wonder if all the parking spaces at LA Live, have any bearing on there being no train station within the complex. I never thought about this before, that parking spaces, represent another revenue stream. Is what kept the trains out of LA Live, thinking similar, to what drove out the trains, that once laced neighborhoods throughout the South Land? LA Live, is AEG’s, Field Of Dreams, I think if they had wanted to bring a train through the complex, they would not have had a fight. If the economy had not tanked, things down here, would be rolling along pretty good, the reality, my observation, is its not. If you build it, they will come, but why would you limit the way to get there. 20,000 cars at a Sporting Event, paying ten bucks to park, certainly puts a dent in the bottom line. 20,000 cars, all starting up around the same time, leaving the event, throws a lot of bad stuff into our air. Understand, we all pay a price, boosting AEG’s bottom line. It probably goes without saying, getting your parking validated, doesn’t mean that space is free, someone pays, I got news for you, that someone is you!
