Corporate Insurance
One of the first memories of my school years, and studying the History of my Country, was of a Government by the People, for the People. What I see that we have, and please correct me if I’m wrong, is a Government by the Corporations, for the Corporations. Eisenhower warned us of this in his final address to the Nation. He spoke of the Military Industrial Complex, and the potential danger that it posed, if not closely watched. Why hasn’t the current Administration, taken steps, to break up this Private Army Blackwater, are they in place to defend the rights of the Corporations, these Corporations, that have the collective throats of the American People, firmly within there grasps. Why was it thought that AIG, General Motors, the Banks, the Large Financial Institutions, all to large to fail? If this was so, don’t you think the Government should have required these entities be insured against failure? When Enron failed, the writing was on the wall. I am not proud to say that after the election of the second bush, I have not voted. In that election, I hopped a plane back to Pennsylvania to cast my vote, I had voted in every election previous, since the time I came of age. The lie was out, I don’t think my vote ever counted! I have to say, that I was encouraged by the results of the last election, but as I watch, it just seems like the same ol, same ol. As a Carpenter, I haven’t worked since last November, my Medical Insurance has run out, I believe it comical, the current myth of Mandatory Insurance for the people who can least afford it, will save the day. By todays standards, I am what is considered to be uneducated, none the less, I know some of what is going on! I know this is all a distraction, that there are bigger, more important issues on the table. Why is it that the fat cats in our society, are making 100, in some cases 1,000, even 10,000 times, what a normal, hard working man is making? Couldn’t we knock these people back a little, have these institutions take that money, and insure us all instead? Why can’t we have everyone in this country, asses their wealth yearly, knock three zeros off the back end, and have this be their tax? Do you think an idea such as this, could start to end the greed and averist, endemic of our culture. Back to this Private Army, Blackwater. Why do they exist, why are they allowed to exist? Is it because it is unlawful to use United States Troops against its own people? There is an old saying, just because your paranoid it doesn’t mean there not out to get you! These Blackwater Troops, this so called Private Legal Army, that is based in our country, are they on the side of the American People? If we have the most modern, powerful, well equipped army in the world, why do we need them, why are they allowed to continue to exist? Are the actions that they are involved in, throughout the world, just training for their actual mission? Is their mission to defend the interests of Corporate America against the American People. You know, every thing george w bush ever touched, was driven into the ground! As uneducated as I am, I knew this, before he was able to Steal the Vote. I’m not surprised by the state of our economy! I am surprised by no one stepping up to correct this. I really had hoped, there would have been a concentrated effort, to level the field! The profits for the quarter ending June 30, came in for United Health, there up 155%. $859,000,000,000 these guys had a hard year, the reason for such a large increase is because they were awarded the contract for the US Military in the Southern United States. I guess someone has to take this on, I don’t think I’d could sleep nights if I was involved, it sounds like blood money to me! The Health Care Lobby surely has been busy over the past few weeks in Washington. Realistically, how can we, the American People, the rank and file of this Country, expect to have our issues addressed, with all this scratch and snatch going around Washington?
