Bonus Tax!!!

The solution for this is pretty simple, an opportunity for us as a country, to fund our way out of this mess. Maybe a place to start, is any bonus that exceeds 15% of a yearly salary, is taxed at such a high rate, that it becomes of no benefit to the one who is receiving it. We can’t forget where these bonuses come from, certainly they don’t come from the money tree. The price we pay, for anything and everything we consume throughout our lives, feeds their fund. I hear about this large financial institution setting bonus money aside, isn’t this sorta like skimming off the top. If we got rid of this, the price of what ever we consume, would come down, we could all live more prosperous lives. I hear this argument about hiring the most talented person, that these bonus packages are important in retaining that talent. I think we are in a real mess, a lot of this talent had their hands in it, stirring the stew so to speak, maybe we would be better off without them. They should all have banked enough money by now, do any of us need to worry for them? I’m not talking about shattering anybodies dream, people should always be rewarded for exceptional work, the reward, I just don’t think, should feed the greed machine. There are families out here, living in tents. These are the Hard Working American Families, who through no fault of their own, have lost everything. They may have bought into some bad loans, trying to keep up with the Jones’s, but if the jobs had stayed, most would have struggled through, these people are all wired to work! I understand how these guys and girls at the top feel, Look, I make things with my hands too. This House of Cards they built, it’s of their hands, there very attached to it, they can’t see it needs to fall. They gotta look at it like this, “I screwed it up, let me start over!” I don’t know, how about we only do business with company and corporations that honestly disclose bonuses paid and that the bonus payed falls within set guidelines. I can only imagine how it would feel to get a Christmas bonus 1000 times my yearly pay, or how I’d feel, learning a partner, the man I worked with throughout the job had a bonus 3000 times his years pay. Now it gets personal, it is no longer about the money, its all about the number, maybe about establishing ones worth. I’m sure that achieving the highest number is an ultimate thrill. I’m a pretty simple in the things that thrill me. Taking my camera out, exposing some film, all that darkroom work, the negatives, the print, this is what trips my breaker. To do these things, there is cost, I pay money in the quest for my thrill. A bonus 500 or 5000 times ones yearly pay is obscene. I think anything over 15 or 20 % should be taxed so high, it would be very unattractive, difficult to accept! Look at it this way, you have some big shot somewhere who gets a $100,000,000 bonus. This guy has probably figured out a way of duping each and every one of us out of a dollar. Now you say, its only a dollar. It is a dollar that has no relationship to any goods or services that we consume. Its just money skimmed off the top, is split between the corporation and its henchmen, what amounts to a free ride
