Ed: Your Annapolis story delighted me. As you know, Dan and I have a sailboat on the bay and have spent many a night in the restaurants and bars near the harbor. One night we rented a slip close to town. We had some great neighbors and shared single-malt Scotch. The evening culminated with my diving demonstration from atop the treated poles to which we tied our lines - very difficult to climb to the top. The folks at the ourdoor bar across "Ego Alley" gave much applause for somersaults and jack-knives. I can't believe I swam in such dirty water... but had a ball. I love your writing. It's fresh, uncomplicated and reveals a lot about you.
